If This Is "Winning The War"...

The below graphic, which is "a chart that the [United States] military is using as a barometer of civil conflict" is from "a classified briefing prepared two weeks ago by the United States Central Command" which "portrays Iraq as edging toward chaos" (according to a New York Times article).

Take a look at it closely. First, observe how the 'Index of Civil Conflict (Assessed)' is currently in the dark red zone, only a few clicks away from a level considered "chaos". Next, take a few moments to read through the more specific list of factors that contribute to this assessment, including a "Routine" level of "Unorganized spontaneous mass civil conflict". Finally, read the section at the bottom, which states "Urban areas experiencing 'ethnic cleansing' campaigns to consolidate control...violence at an all-time high, spreading geographically."

Not good...not good at all.
