Ok, so the new flavor I put in the title of this post is my own amusing creation, but the rest of the story is very much true. Famed ice cream moguls Ben & Jerry have not only endorsed Barack Obama, but they've "lent his Vermont campaign two "ObamaMobiles" that will tour the state and give away scoops of 'Cherries for Change' ice cream". Personally, I like 'Yes We Can-dy Apple Cream' much better, but if I lived in Vermont I'd be just as pleased to indulge in some 'Cherries for Change'.
This is easily one of the more hilarious endorsements of the 2008 presidential campaign season, especially considering that a further news story came out reporting that "Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins were unavailable for comment on the endorsement"......kidding, of course, considering Burt Baskin died over 40 years ago (and thank you Morgan Spurlock's Super Size Me for that nugget of knowledge).
