I Love This Game

One down, eleven to go! Ok, ok, I know a win against Buffalo was obvious, but a win is a win. All that's left to say is 'DEFENSE! DEFENSE! DEFENSE!'...as in work on that defense Rutgers because you're gonna need to be sharp for that West Virginia game I can't wait to attend this season.

Real Time...Returns!

Check out HBO this Friday night at 11pm, because Real Time with Bill Maher returns for it's bazillionth season!

Here's hoping that Maher finally realizes that his panels have become a bit repetitive and adjusts accordingly...there's only so much Bradley Whitford, Ben Affleck, and Richard Belzer one man can take!

Two Very Different Must-See Movies of the Summer

The Verdict on 'The Simpsons Movie': With decades of episodes, hundreds of characters, and millions of dedicated fans, The Simpsons Movie had some of the highest expectations to meet this summer, and it successfully met those expectations. The jokes, expectedly ranging from the more topical to the more goofy, are as laugh-inducing as your average Simpsons episode. Dare I say it's the funniest movie of the summer? I dare!

The Verdict on 'Sicko': A gut-wrenching, dramatic documentary tasked with putting a human face on the categorically broken American health care system. Moore follows a film making recipe we've come to (happily) expect from him: take one controversial topic, combine it with the hard facts, mix in a measure of tragic real-life accounts, add a pinch of light humor and...BINGO! You end up with a documentary so compelling you'll want to both lend a helping hand to your neighbor and march on Washington D.C. as the credits begin to roll.

The Grade:
Simpsons, A-
Sicko, A

The Scarlet Knights Make MLB History!!!

'Rutgers Student Emerges With No. 500' [MLB.com]
"The Rutgers student was on the ground clamoring with the rest of the fans. Somehow, he got hold of the ball and was promptly whisked away by security guards - physically removed from the fray, spectators said, pumping his arm while holding the ball in the air."

'Rutgers Student Snags Rodriguez's 500th'
[NJ.com]
"Walter "Sonny" Kowalczyk, 29, formerly of Hamilton Township, won a battle for the balls, catching the high, arcing shot that Rodriguez slammed into the left field stands, his cousin Dawn Chiacchio said."

'Rutgers Student Catches Historic Homer' [Newsday.com]
"It's his ball, I'm happy for him and hopefully we can negotiate something to get the ball back," said Rodriguez, who yesterday became the 22nd player in baseball history -- and the youngest -- to reach the 500 mark. "I really want it back. But if not, I congratulate him for catching it. Nice catch."
